MVT Solutions Certified testing found the Ex-Guard XG-150G2 had only a minor impact on fuel economy of -0.58 gal/1000 miles (-0.56%), which is less than the tractor’s side mirrors. This test was conducted to quantify fuel costs of the Ex-Guard system and therefore enable fleets to make informed investment decisions with respect to fuel consumption versus vehicle front end damage (total ROI). Front end damage can result in thousands of dollars in repair costs and downtime as a results of animal strikes, contact with other vehicles or stationary objects. Today’s tractors are expensive to repair due to costly items such as hoods, radiators and heat exchangers and collision avoidance radar sensors.

Additional Features We Liked About the Ex-Guard XG-150G2

Our fleet was impressed with how well built and engineered the Ex-Guard XG-150G2 grille guards are. They open/close easily, giving easy access to open the hood. The Ex-Guard’s steel isn’t simply painted or corrosion-treated, it is layered with 1/8-inch PVC, which protects against chipping and instills a lot of confidence for a long-life product. The grille guards are universal and therefore transferable between tractors, which makes the long-life durability even more appealing. Transfer may require new tractor-specific mounts.

Independent Third Party Testing
