InRange Trailer Skirts

InRange Trailer Skirts

View Full Report

MVT Solutions Certified™ testing found the InRange 24-ft Skirt saved 8.72 gal/1000 miles (7.03%) and the Extended 40-ft Skirt saved 11.12 gal/1000 miles (8.96%). This trailer skirt is unique in several ways, including their substantial fuel savings, which may seem surprising. However, the InRange skirts cover a lot of surface area and as a result save a lot of fuel.

The design uses curtain side material, the same material used on covered flatbed trailers, which is relatively inexpensive, flexible, and easy to replace. High definition printing can also be performed on the material for company logos or advertising campaigns. The material is tensioned using a ratcheting system and steel masts at each end of the skirt. The skirt comes in both the 24-ft length, which ends in front of the tandems, or the the 40-ft length that extends nearly to the DOT bumper.

Results for Any Carrier

Carriers can trust the test results are reliable for other tractor-trailer configurations, as they are not specific to MVT’s fleet. During testing, vehicles were configured to represent the current industry-standard and did not include wheel covers or tractor wheel side fairings. Carriers can find directions on calculating their own fuel savings in the report or can contact MVT Solutions with questions.
